what is an anaglyph?

A stereoscopic picture consisting of two images of the same object, taken from slightly different angles, in two complementary colors. When viewed through colored glasses, the images merge to produce a stereoscopic sensation (the "3D effect"). While this technology is old, new applications are being pioneered today through the Internet.

breathe new life into your online collections

Orinda Group can stereoscopically photograph museum collection items and create anaglyphs that can be deployed on your museum's website or in print publications. We can create anaglyphs of specific objects, sculptures, exhibition installations or your museum.

make historic stereoviews come alive

Many historic collections contain hundreds or thousands of significant stereocards or stereoviews. These items have the unique power to relate history in 3D. However, due to the special viewers required, exhibiting and publishing these images previously has not been practical. Orinda Group can scan your images and convert them (see above) to anaglyphs, allowing people to view your collection for the first time.

incredible marketing possibilities

The glasses required to view anaglyphs are very inexpensive, and printing the images (once created) requires no special process. This can be an excellent, low-cost and fun way to drive traffic to your website. Also, the glasses can be customized with your museum or exhibition logo.
